High fashion hair that's easy to recreate.
The hairstyles modelled at a Chanel show are always as coveted as the clothes, and this was once again the case at the luxury fashion house's autumn/winter 2020 show during Paris Fashion Week.
It marks the return of half-up hair, a style that we all wore in our high school days, but has since fallen from favour.
Sure, the likes of Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner have been doing this off-duty, too, but their take on half-up hair has been more of a Nineties reference. This, however, feels fluid and soft – not severe – and ultimately, much more grown-up.
Behind the look was backstage stalwart, and legendary British stylist, Sam McKnight.
'Misty morning romance,' is how he described the vibe, showcasing his handiwork of voluminous half-back styles with some accessorised with supersized black bow clips.
We love this for myriad reasons but not least the simplicity. While there's no doubt that McKnight's unparalleled skill played a big part in the look's just-thrown-up feel, it does appear easy to achieve.
Imagine a two or three-day old blow-dry, given some guts thanks to a texturising product, sectioned above the ears to the crown of the head. Secure it haphazardly, and clip in a big bow to conceal any mistaken mess.
We're trying it tomorrow.
