Obsesioni me neon - esenciale për sezonën e verës

Neon is my summer essential, and I’m so obsessed with our new Neon Obsessions palettes because you can create SO many looks with them! Each palette has a combo of matte and shimmer shades that allow you to create endless makeup looks, whether you want something super bold and dramatic or just subtle and pretty. Here are all my tips and tricks for using our Neon Obsessions palettes, and a step-by-step guide of some of my fave looks!

Rule 1: Conceal First

Start by applying a concealer as a base all over your lid (or our Melted Shadows Faux Fur shade). This not only helps to create a flawless blank canvas, but it will also help the shades to pop and give them more of a base to grip to.

Rule 2: Have Fun

The best thing about these palettes is there are so many possibilities, so let your creative side out! The shimmers work beautifully by themselves for a more subtle daytime look, or you can be a little edgy and apply a popping neon shade to just the inner corner of your eyes instead.

Look 1: Neon Liner

I went for pink, but you can use any of the matte shades to do this look. Here’s how to:

Step 1: Using a very thin brush or a small angled brush, apply a pale concealer. I love to use our Overachiever Concealer in Whipped Cream, $34, or the Morphe’s Fluidity Concealer in white, $9. My tip is to put a little concealer on the back of your hand and pick up a little bit of product at a time to draw the outline, then build up the coverage slowly – if you go too thick it makes powder application more difficult.

Step 2: Give the concealer time to set, a couple of minutes should be plenty.

Step 3: Using the same type of brush, dip into your matte shade of choice and then tap any excess off the brush before packing the pigment on top of your pre-drawn concealer liner.

Step 4: Dust off any fallout with a big fluffy brush, and use a cotton bud if you need to clean up the edges.

Step 5: Finish the look with layers of mascara or your fave falsies!

Look 2: Graphic Liner

I LOVE this look for summer! It’s so fun and you can really get creative. If the top line is too much for you, you can stick to just doing a white-winged liner. Or you could switch it up and use a glitter shade from our Matte and Metal Melted Shadows instead of liner.

Step 1: Once your concealer base is down, sweep your fave matte shade across your lids and blend out to just above your crease. If you like, you can add depth by adding more of the same shade to your outer corner and crease.

Step 2: Using a white liner, start to draw the top line. It should begin from just above the inner corner and should be arched around and just above your natural crease (for hooded lids, you can take the liner higher), then fan the liner out towards the edge of your brow, so that the curve is lifted at the end.

Step 3: Draw your usual winged liner, keeping it skinny on the lid and then winging it up so that it’s parallel with your top liner.

Step 4: Use a cotton bud to clean up any excess eyeshadow above the top line.

Step 5: As an extra step, you can also add a shimmer shade to your inner corner, but keep it concentrated to just the very inner corner.

Look 3: Sunset Eyes

This look works so perfectly with our Orange Neon palette, but you can do the same look using our other Neon palettes by playing the with the mattes in different shade gradients.

Step 1: After applying concealer all over the lid, choose the deepest shade from your palette and blend into the outer corner and into a wing (for this look I used the top right shade form the Neon Orange palette).

Step 2: Drag this color up into your crease and lightly sweep across your lid.

Step 3: Apply the lightest shade in your palette at the inner corner and pack it onto the inner and center area of your lid (I used the top left, yellow shade from the Neon Orange palette). Using a small, densely-packed brush, blend the same shade onto the inner corner of your lower lash line.

Step 4: Top off the lightest shade with a bright shimmer shade (I used the bottom right shimmer from the Neon Orange palette).

Step 5: Using your deepest shade again, take a little on a densely packed brush and work it into the outer lower lash line, blending towards the center.

Step 6: As an extra step, you can take the deepest shade on a big fluffy brush and sweep it across your cheekbones and up towards your temples.

Get Creative!

I love to use these all over my face, either by swirling a medium-sized fluffy brush into the palette and using it as a blush or by dipping a small fluffy brush into the shimmers to use as a highlighter on cheekbones.

You can also use any of the shades on your lips. Apply lip balm, then gently dab your fave matte onto your lips, then finish with a shimmer in the center or the lips to add volume.
