If you haven’t noticed, there has been a huge influx of nail trends this summer. We’ve seen it all, from Shark Week nails to jelly nails, eye-catching neon nails to freakin’ hot-sauce nails. If you thought it was over, think again: Introducing hole-punch nails.
This really takes me back to hole-punching a paper in elementary school to create “snowflakes.” Was that just me? Anyway, the hole-punch nail trend was first brought to life by nail technician Britney Tokyo, a Los Angeles–based manicurist who has some of the dopest designs I have seen in a while. (Take a stroll down her Instagram if you don’t believe me.)
Most recently, Tokyo touched the hands of singer and actor Rita Ora to create the look. She used tie-dye patterns (which, in case you didn’t know is also a trend for the summer) mixed with glittery neons and topped with a heart-shaped hole punched in the long tips. Adorable, I know.
The nails scream summertime — a perfect mix of trippy and cute. Tokyo is calling them “Tie-dye happy vibes,” and the fans totally agree. One commenter wrote, “These are amazing !!🌈❤️,” while Ora herself commented, “Don’t worry be happy.”
