Bouffants, doe-eyed lashes, cat-eyes, and hair bows inspired by some of the decade’s biggest beauty icons like Brigitte Bardot, Twiggy, and Sophia Loren have flooded the red carpet and trickled into our own hair and makeup looks.
Thanks to sweet, uncomplicated and soft feminine vibe of these retro makeup and hairstyles, the ‘60s are still swinging in 2020. And that’s exactly why these classic looks are some of spring’s biggest beauty trends.

Half-Up Bouffant
Brigitte Bardot’s signature heap of tousled tendrils with the sides pinned back set the bar for bombshell hair. To give Shailene Woodley a similar vibe, hairstylist Keith Carpenter misted volumizer and dry shampoo through her hair to make it lush and then teased her crown.
Baby-Doll Lashes
Mod icon Twiggy opened our eyes to the doe-like power of graphic false lashes applied on top and bottom lids. Makeup artist Jo Baker mimicked the effect by drawing slashes of black liner under Lucy Boynton’s eyes with a brush.

There was no “I woke up like this” hair back in Sharon Tate’s day. Sculpted, blow-dried ends give your style a soft, flattering shape, and hairstylist Harry Josh (who did Jodie Comer’s look) likes to combine them with a center part.
